Chapter 1345: Hunting the bear

Back to the present.

Old Madam Yu scolded the two kids, if not for the dangerous situation they were in at the moment, she would have given Yu Mai and Li Yuya a few hits. These two brats! They actually came to the forest and that too so deep in the mountains.

They were fortunate that the villagers and Yu Dong found out about their disappearance in time, all thanks to the small pups who barked and alerted the entire village through the rest of the livestock.

If not then these two children would have died and eaten by this bear in this mountain and no one would have found even their bones! Bears were known to eat everything, especially bears who were hungry and starved. This bear clearly came down the mountain, looking around the forest for food because of the drought.

Old Madam Yu did not think that it was too much of a surprise as because of the drought many wild animals came down the mountain and tried to hunt their livestock. It was because of Yu Dong and Wu Junfen’s wits that they were able to keep their livestock protected as they had made many traps at the entrance of the mountain.

Though once in a while a chicken or goat would go missing, it was still better than a human being dragged to the mountain or getting attacked by wild animals.

The entire village thought that they had prepared for the worst and that nothing was going to go wrong. Who would have thought that these two brats would come looking for death?

"Ma...Mai is sorry," Yu Mai was crying like a child while being held by his grandmother. He wanted to say that he was not at fault but Yu Mai realized he made a mistake by following Li Yuya instead of telling the adults all for the sake of avoiding scolding. If he had told the adults then nothing like this would have happened, it meant that he was also in the wrong!

"Grandma don’t scold Mai, I was the one who brought him here," Li Yuya knew when to admit that she was at fault. She looked at Old Madam Yu who was obviously very angry and then said to her, "I was the one who did wrong, don’t blame Mai."

One of them couldn’t help but say, "Madam Yu, it’s not easy to go for the heart of a bear."

"That’s right, if you miss then you might end up getting seriously injured," another woman said to Yu Dong.

"I know," Yu Dong was also aware of it but—— "If we don’t kill this thing then I am afraid that it will only hurt others."

If they let this bear go after just injuring it, there was a possibility that it might come down the village next time. And they did not have the time to dig a trap big enough for this bear to fall either. Other than that Yu Dong couldn’t think of anything else, if she was alone she would have killed this thing on her own.

But if she killed such a big bear alone, it would only raise suspicions!

"Just aim for his eyes and leave the rest to me.," Yu Dong told the huntress behind her. The woman seemed a bit reluctant to agree to such a dangerous plan but upon seeing Yu Dong’s solemn expression, she nodded.
